Week In Review 3/26/23: The First Week, Hottest Titles

Wow, what a first week it's been! As we found our footing, we made some mistakes, but we're now settling nicely into our role of connecting tabletop roleplaying game enthusiasts, players, and game runners to the best titles in the TTRPG world. Our mission is to shine a spotlight on the work that's worthy of your valuable time and money, and to drive your exploration into other TTRPG systems and worlds.

We want to be clear that we are primarily a marketing platform. However, we believe that the best way to market to our community is by providing value for that community. We do this by reducing choice with careful curation, providing accurate descriptions of the products we select, and serving up that information at the right place and time. To achieve this, we pair editorial content creation, advanced analytics, and social media to generate and deliver consistent value for our followers, community, and partners. We're thrilled that you've decided to follow us on this journey!

We want to demonstrate our value by providing you with insights into the hottest titles in The Selection, determined by our proprietary analytics. So without further ado, here are the Hottest Titles from our first week!

Hottest Titles

It's no surprise that Fabula Ultima was by far the hottest title this week upon reflection. Many TTRPG gamers have played JRPGs at some point in their lives, and some may have even spent more time playing console RPGs than TTRPGs. Paired with its beautiful artwork, this title has broad appeal and offers an excellent way to introduce people who are curious about TTRPGs to new worlds of play.

We've noticed that Fantasy AGE has been recommended in other channels, and given all the disruption that occurred with Dungeons & Dragons this spring, it seems that there is still a strong interest in alternative systems for fantasy roleplay. Additionally, this being the 2nd Edition of the book, it likely generated some interest as people are curious about the changes.

Warhammer 40,000 seems to be one of the hottest franchises in the TTRPG space right now. The 40k miniature community has exploded in recent years, and it appears that some of that interest is starting to bleed into the TTRPG space. Furthermore, there is no doubt a lot of overlap between these communities, as evidenced by a visit to your friendly local game store. Maledictum, the setting for this TTRPG, is a fantastic world full of intrigue that fans of the setting will be excited to explore through this game.

Thanks and Stay Tuned

Thank you again for considering us worthy of your time and attention. We look forward to connecting you with more titles and insights in the near future. We have more value coming online for our community and partners in the coming weeks, including tools to enhance your game, a store of carefully curated TTRPG accessories powered by the same analytics and technology we are currently developing, and exclusive titles and deals that will only be available here at RPG PDFs.
